About

The Susan and Donald Newhouse Center for the Humanities at Wellesley College was founded to promote innovative, imaginative, and influential research and teaching in the humanities, broadly defined. Bringing the best current research to bear upon new and enduring issues in the humanities, the Center aims to create a dynamic and cosmopolitan intellectual community that extends from Wellesley College to the wider Boston-area community and beyond.

In addition to bringing distinguished visitors to the College, the NCH creates opportunities for intellectual risk-taking and the exchange of ideas among faculty and students. The Center supports the integration of the humanities and the arts, and coordinates programs and activities with the Davis Museum and Cultural Center and with the performing arts.

CHCI/ACLS Partnership The Newhouse Center is a participant in the CHCI/ACLS Partnership, which connects CHCI member organizations with recipients of the ACLS Recent Doctoral Recipients fellowship program. Visit http://chcinetwork.org/programs-and-projects/special-projects/chci-acls-partnership for information on this program.

The Newhouse Center provides a range of other opportunities for visiting scholars and postdoctoral fellows. Visit the organization's website for complete program information.
