About

The Humanities Studio at Pomona College, established in 2018, fosters interdisciplinary study of the humanities among Pomona students and faculty, and enriches the experience of the humanities for students, faculty, staff, and our surrounding communities through four programming branches.

Speakers Series: Our Speakers Series, curated around an annual theme, brings to campus prominent scholars, writers, artists, and activists from across the humanities disciplines, social sciences, natural sciences, and the arts for public lectures, workshops and master classes with students, and a meeting with our Humanities Studio Fellows Seminar.

Humanities Fellows Seminar: Our weekly Humanities Fellows Seminar provides a dynamic space for the exchange of ideas among an annual cohort of faculty, student, and postdoctoral fellows who join us from across disciplines.

The Humanities Toolkit: This series of events offers workshops and professional-development opportunities to help students and faculty move their humanities training off campus and into the world.

“Random Acts of Humanities”: Programming, unconstrained by the annual theme, that responds to and inspires emergent, interdisciplinary partnerships.
