About

The Institute of Advanced Studies brings researchers from all over the world to The University of Western Australia, with the aim of further enhancing UWA's global research profile. UWA is recognised internationally as an excellent, research-intensive university and a leading intellectual and creative resource to the community it serves. The Institute of Advanced Studies contributes to UWA's priority areas of research, and reaches out to the broadest definition of community: a community of scholars, of students, and of an interested general community of inquiring and curious people.

Institute of Advanced Studies Visiting Fellowships IAS Visiting Fellowships are designed to foster innovation in research, by supporting leading scholars across all disciplines to visit The University of Western Australia to work with a UWA-based colleague. Individuals working outside the academy, including artists, musicians, writers, activists, and public intellectuals are also eligible to apply. Robert and Maude Gledden Visiting Fellowships The Robert and Maude Gledden Visiting Fellowships are part of the estate bequeathed to The University of Western Australia by the late Robert John Gledden to promote and encourage education and research at the University in the fields of applied science, engineering, mining, surveying (including spatial sciences and land use planning), or cognate subjects. The purpose of the Fellowship is to support global research collaborations by providing funding to bring outstanding researchers to UWA.
