The Institute for Humanities Research is now The Humanities Institute at UC Santa Cruz
The Institute for Humanities Research at UC Santa Cruz is now The Humanities Institute. Since its founding in 1999, the institute has supported hundreds of individual faculty, graduate, and undergraduate fellows, as well as collaborations across the UC Santa Cruz campus and with other universities around the world.
In recent years, the Institute has committed to engaging with the broadest community possible—from first-generation students, to local residents, to anyone interested in compelling ideas and making sense of this increasingly complex world. This new name (complimented by a new website) is designed to engage with these communities and bridge the historically separate projects of research and public engagement.
