Environmental Humanities Network Relaunch

Dear CHCI members,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Jason M. Kelly, and I would like to introduce myself as the interim convener for the CHCI Environmental Humanities Network.

In its first iteration, the Environmental Humanities Network, formerly known as Humanities for the Environment (HfE), served as a resource for CHCI centers to develop and extend programming, research, and dialogue focused on contemporary environmental challenges. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation supported the HfE Network from 2013 to 2015 to establish Observatories (http://hfe-observatories.org/) around the globe as well as hosting conferences, workshops, courses, and publications.

As we re-establish the Environmental Humanities Network, we invite you to participate in a series of organizational meetings:

October 21, 12:00-1:00pm ET (Zoom registration)
November 6, 7:00-8:00pm ET (Zoom registration)

We aim to harness the collective expertise and enthusiasm of CHCI members to build on earlier successes and generate new collaborations. Among items that we discuss will be organizational structure, a meetup at the annual CHCI conference, and ideas for potential collaborations.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. In the meantime, if you would be interested in participating in an organizing committee or have particular topics that you would like to discuss, send an email to me (jaskelly@iu.edu).

Thank you for your continued commitment to the work of CHCI. I look forward to the possibility of collaborating with you.

Best regards,
Jason
