About
The Obert C. and Grace A. Tanner Humanities Center at the University of Utah promotes humanistic inquiry and exchange by supporting innovative scholarly projects and creating opportunities for interaction among scholars, students, and lifelong learners. The Center works to develop and expand the humanities community in three ways:
-Providing fellowships and support to undergraduate, graduate, and faculty scholars to facilitate and discuss new research in the humanities, particularly projects that transcend traditional disciplinary and departmental boundaries. -Developing and hosting colloquia and workshops that encourage new thinking in humanities education for university, primary, and secondary school faculty and their students. - Presenting conferences, lectures, panel discussions, screenings, and other programs that connect campus to the community and encourage engagement with the humanities beyond the university environment.
We annually offer up to two research fellowship to faculty members outside of the University of Utah; four internal fellowships to University of Utah faculty; two graduate student fellowship; one Mormon Studies fellowship; and one undergraduate Honors fellowship.
