The mission of the Humanities Project at the University of Rochester is to advance research and artistic production in all areas of the humanities and the humanistic social sciences. The Humanities Project underwrites the very best, most promising humanistic inquiry from across the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering, and it is the goal of the Humanities Project not only to help make faculty research and creative activity possible, but to bring their results to the public. The Humanities Project funds both small and large faculty research endeavors that are discipline-specific as well as trans-disciplinary. Projects ranging from small faculty working groups to full-scale international conferences have brought to the university community in-depth investigation of the very best, most original humanistic scholarship and creative activity.
