About

The Center for the Advancement of the Humanities is committed to the pursuit of humanistically informed knowledge for human well-being. It pursues this aim through its support of teaching and research in humanities that is forward-looking in seeking new approaches to traditional humanistic disciplines, developing faculty and student affinity groups across disciplinary boundaries, and making this knowledge known both professionally and through public engagement. By sponsoring faculty and student research, interdisciplinary conferences, internationally known speakers, community projects, and public events, the Center intends to be at the at the forefront of debates that require humanistic knowledge to enhance the common good of society in support of the Ignatian ideal of being for and with others.
