The mission of the American Studies Center (CSAM), which is part of the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy, and Theology at the West University of Timisoara, is to support academic research and advance scientific knowledge in the field of American Studies. While its foundation lies in philological studies, CSAM expands its scope to include cultural and comparative studies. CSAM aims to initiate and develop academic and cultural research projects with a primary focus on fostering innovation in education within one of the most contemporary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary areas of the humanities. Through professional collaborations and partnerships, the center actively engages both established academics and young researchers, including master’s and doctoral students, in projects within the American Studies program. CSAM actively collaborates with international academic programs and fellowship initiatives, including the prestigious Fulbright Program. Fulbright scholars have historically contributed to the center’s interdisciplinary programs, enhancing the quality of education and research within the field of American Studies.
