Institute for Humanities Research, Arizona State University
Deadline: April 12, 2010
The Institute for Humanities Research at Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ), which supports socially engaged transdiciplinary research in the humanities, invites applications for two one-semester visiting fellowships for Spring 2011. Visitors will join two teams of ASU fellows working on the same theme, which for 2010-11 is The Humanities and Human Origins. Humanities scholars have always investigated what it means to be human. Next year’s theme is designed to engage humanities scholars in addressing and analyzing the role of the humanities in illuminating human origins, what it means to be human, and humans as the source of origins. Projects should utilize humanities perspectives and methodologies within and across such fields as history, literary studies, art history, film and media studies, philosophy, religious studies, gender studies, ethnic studies, and related humanities disciplines. The application deadline is April 12th, 2010. For complete information and application guidelines, please click here or contact the IHR at ihr@asu.edu or 480-965-3000.
