About the Group
The Associate Directors and Administrators Group provides a venue for peers to discuss the unique role of the administrator in humanities centers and institutes – a role that demands a wide range of skills ranging from program development and coordination, public engagement and communications, fundraising, budget and financial management and, in some cases, academic program management and curriculum development. The group may also become a place for to discuss the dual lives of scholars/administrators, and the growing interest in administration and program management as an alternative career choice for humanities scholars.
The first meeting of the Associate Directors and Administrators Group took place as a part of our 2010 Annual Meeting at Brown University, followed by a subsequent successful meeting at our 2011 Annual Meeting in Toronto. The Group will meet on 13 June 2012 as a part of our upcoming Annual Meeting, Anthropocene Humanities, at the Australian National University. Please indicate your interest in attending this meeting on the Annual Meeting registration form.
