About
Founded in 2012, the UT Humanities Center is a leading research center at Tennessee's flagship university, advancing scholarship in the arts and humanities and humanities-related disciplines. The Humanities Center supports research and public engagement and connects UT scholars to national and global networks of intellectual exchange.
The Center supports research productivity through faculty and graduate student fellowship and mentorship programs, research seminars, speaker series, and special events. The Center also serves as hub for interdepartmental collaboration and connects UT arts and humanities faculty and students to international research networks, interdisciplinary and teams-based research and teaching on the UT campus, and internal and external funding opportunities. The UT Humanities Center supports the university's land-grant mission for local, state, and regional publics by creating cooperative pathways and dialogue between university scholars and regional educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and businesses, and it broadens the impact of UT arts and humanities research through public programming, graduate student alt-ac training, and support for curricular innovation.
