About

The Centre for Advanced Studies at the University of Nottingham was established in January 2010 to provide a centre of international excellence in the Arts and Social Sciences, committed to developing opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and to welcoming external partners to the University's research expertise.

Current active research clusters include: Children and Childhood Health Humanities Towards Pervasive Media Free and Unfree Labour Digital Humanities (incorporating archive to digital asset and infinite archives) Cultures of work and welfare Creative Sector Engagement Regional Heritage and the Enlightenment Silk Road Studies: material culture, cities and traditions of travel and tourism Natural Hazards

Emerging areas of interest include: Aesthetics Human Communication Human/Machine (Science and Culture) Pervasive Image Space/Place Sustainability Wellbeing
